Jusski Lentilainen was born and grew up on Rhylanor. He was the third son of a grav vehicle constructor who was a lay preacher in the Imperial Church.

Jusski joined the marines at 18 and little knew that he'd found his niche in life. His natural abilities and innate talents suited the service and his superiors immediately saw his potential. In his first four years he was promoted twice in the ranks and finished that term at OCS and was promoted to 2nd Lt.

In his second term Jusski saw action for the first time and when troops were called in to assist in quelling a terrorist inspired riot he was decorated for valour with an MCG. He does *not* like to talk about the events which led to this award. He was also promoted to the rank of 1st Lt. Two years later he won a purple heart when he was shot in the foot during a counter insurgency assignment. Although fully healed, he can still sense an approaching change in the weather.

In his third term another police action saw Jusski decorated once again, this time saving the life of three of his men. He was promoted to Captain and persuaded to take on the role of [company, battalion, regiment?] chaplain as his strong faith was noted by all those who knew him, his concern for his men well known, and his desire to contribute to both physical and spiritual development of troops opened him up to the suggestion. The sight of him leading divine worship on his battered field organ was an encouragement to all those who attended - believers or not. He won a second MCUF decoration as he defended a marine chapel full of badly wounded from insurgents intent on a 'no holds barred' attack.

A distinguished career in the marines looked assured until a round of stringent government cutbacks slashed marine numbers across the subsector and Jusski found himself in civvie street. Thanks to this dismissal he has more than a little distrust of governmental authority - though he responds well to military authority as well as leadership and orders from those he respects. Unfortunately, he found it difficult to adapt to civilian life and spent two years in a variety of part-time, temporary jobs as he looked for employment that could utilize his skills.

Finally, responding to an advertisement for 'security' for Dame Tarane and her band, Jusski has spent the last two years touring with the group. During that time he has developed a loyalty to Dame T that borders on fanatical. Although he would be extremely embarrassed to admit it, he would certainly give his life for her. At the last but one gig the keyboard player quit the group unexpectedly just hours before a performance and the ex-marine, somewhat against his better judgement, was persuaded to fill in using his field organ skills. Whether he continues in this role has not been decided by the band or by Jusski who does not seek the limelight. Media reviews that focussed on his 'rigidity' have made him self-consciously try to drop some of his military manner that he'd not shed from his service days.

Physically a big man, Jusski has a quietness of spirit that is surprising for someone of his background. However, his ability to listen well causes even the most hardened people he encounters to often open up to him much to their own surprise. Whilst not overly evangelistic Jusski does see his time with the band as an opportunity to meet with those who might benefit from his encouragement to look to their spiritual side. When his security duty permits, he might often be seen in close conversation with, say, a local venue manager or even a fan who has arrived early for a performance.
