Blythe grew up on Jenghe, in a lower middle-class neighborhood. Demonstrating a natural proficiency for music at an early age, Blythe had established herself as an accomplished flutist and singer by her late teens. Between gigs, Blythe served as a medical assistant in her neighborhood's desparately understaffed medical clinic.

Her career really started to take off when she joined Eskandia in 1110, an up- and-coming band led by its beautiful and charismatic lead singer, Jayne Connelly. Blythe rode the wave of the band's rise to fame for the next several years, while she and Jayne became involved in an intense yet rather unstable romantic relationship. Their relational ups and downs received much attention in the local tabloids, culminating in a spectacular, *very* public breakup in 1115.

Jayne forced Blythe to leave the band and she spitefully saw to it that her ex- girlfiend's career was utterly ruined. Unable to find work in the music field, Blythe went back to working in her old neighborhood's medical clinic, trying her best to keep busy. It was there that she met Maia Cardone, in 1117.

Maia was a former ISA operative, who resigned from the organization after being involved is a series of particularly heinous "black ops". She and Blythe took to each other *immediately*, and in the fullness of time decided to get an apartment together. Over the next three happy years, they helped each other to heal the deep emotional scars of their pasts with their mutual love. Also, Maia taught Blythe many things, including training her in a martial arts style that suited her small frame and natural agility.

After Maia's sudden, violent death, Blythe realized that she couldn't bear to stay on Jenghe anymore, since everything around her seemed to remind her of Maia. After selling most of her and Maia's things and gathering together the few items that she wished to keep, Blythe took the shuttle to the highport, taking a first ship that she could find off-planet. She ended up on Regina Up, where she joined the crew of the Eagle's Dare.
